Dr. Sunya Sweeney, DMD, grew up in Peachtree City, Georgia, and loves to watch her patients transform during treatment. Dr. Sweeney attended Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, as an undergraduate and moved to Augusta, Georgia, to earn her DMD at the Medical College of Georgia.
She then completed a general practice residency at New York Methodist Hospital and an orthodontic residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. In 2015, Dr. Sweeney was board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics — something only 1 in 3 orthodontists achieve. When she’s not in the office, Dr. Sweeney enjoys painting, drawing, playing tennis and running, as well as spending time with her family.
Dr. Fender received his Doctorate of Medical Dentistry from the Medical College of Georgia Dental School where he was Valedictorian and then completed his graduate orthodontic training at Vanderbilt University. Prior to college he was also Valedictorian his senior year of high school.
He has always strived to excel and be the best at whatever he set out to accomplish. Dr. Fender is involved in the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists. Being actively engaged in these professional affiliations allows him to work closely with colleagues and peers so that he is able to provide his patients the most scientifically proven and tested methods of treatments. Dr. Fender is happily married to Hope and they have three wonderful boys, Austin, Andrew and Evan.
